Programme Overview
Sasol is inviting applications from young South Africans who are interested in gaining foundational workplace skills and practical experience through its 12-month Learnership Programme. The programme combines theoretical learning aligned with an NQF Learnership programme and practical, on-site work experience.
The main purpose of the programme is to improve the skills and workplace performance of entry-level learners by equipping them with essential knowledge and abilities needed in a professional working environment.
Participants will develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, computer literacy and basic business principles. Through the combination of structured theoretical learning and practical workplace exposure, learners will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of workplace expectations and improve their ability to perform in a professional environment.
The programme will be offered at Sasol locations in Sandton, Sasolburg and Secunda. It will run for a fixed period of 12 months.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants interested in the Sasol Learnership Programme must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must have completed a National Senior Certificate, Grade 12 or Matric qualification.
- Must be between 18 and 29 years of age.
A Diploma or Degree in any of the following disciplines will be considered an added advantage:
- Supply Chain
- Finance
- Information Technology (IT)
- Environmental Studies
- Psychology
- Human Resources (HR)
- Marketing
- Economics
A qualification in one of the listed disciplines is advantageous but is not stated as a compulsory requirement. The minimum educational requirement is a completed Grade 12 qualification.
Programme Structure and Core Elements
The 12-month programme will involve participation in theoretical learning, practical workplace activities and assessments.
Successful learners will be expected to:
- Participate in the Learnership Programme and successfully complete the assessment process.
- Participate in all required workplace-readiness activities and exercises.
- Engage with the theoretical learning component aligned with the NQF Learnership programme.
- Gain practical, on-site work experience as part of the programme.
The workplace-readiness activities and exercises will form part of the learners’ development and preparation for professional working environments.
