Pt Operational Services is inviting applications for temporary Cleaner/Tea Lady positions at two toll plaza locations in Gauteng and North West.
The positions are responsible for maintaining clean and hygienic office facilities, restrooms, kitchens and reception areas, as well as preparing and serving refreshments to management, visitors and staff.
Applicants with a minimum of Grade 10 who have good communication and interpersonal skills may apply.

About the Cleaner/Tea Lady Position
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that the office, restrooms, kitchen and reception areas are properly cleaned and maintained according to the instructions and cleaning programme provided by the Plaza Manager.
The role also includes serving refreshments to management, visitors and employees during meetings and other activities.
The successful candidates may also be required to provide relief for staff members who are away on leave.
This is a practical role that requires applicants to be physically capable of performing cleaning duties, moving around the premises and working in areas that may include confined spaces and stairs.
Minimum Requirements
Suitable candidates should have:
- Grade 10.
- In-house training.
- Proper communication skills.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Self-management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to handle heavy electrical or motor equipment and machinery.
Candidates should be able to follow instructions and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform a range of cleaning, housekeeping and refreshment-related duties.
Responsibilities include:
Cleaning and Housekeeping
- Clean the office building according to the office cleaning programme.
- Clean and maintain office cutlery.
- Clean office toilets according to the required cleaning schedule.
- Clean the kitchen and chill room areas.
- Keep designated workplace areas clean and presentable.
- Ensure cleaning activities are completed according to instructions.
Cleaning Equipment and Chemicals
- Use cleaning machinery and chemicals according to supplier specifications.
- Follow the requirements contained in relevant Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is kept clean.
- Ensure chemicals and cleaning equipment are properly locked away when not in use.
- Comply with applicable health and safety requirements.
Refreshments
The Cleaner/Tea Lady will also assist with refreshments for management, meetings and visitors.
Duties include:
- Preparing boardrooms for meetings.
- Preparing coffee, tea and other refreshments.
- Serving refreshments when required.
- Ensuring refreshments are stored securely.
- Keeping kitchen and refreshment areas clean and organised.
Stock Control
The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring office cleaning supplies.
This includes:
- Taking stock of office cleaning materials.
- Monitoring the availability of cleaning supplies.
- Reporting or addressing stock requirements according to company procedures.
Working Environment
The position involves working in an office and toll plaza environment, including areas that are open to the elements.
Employees may need to move around the premises and work in fairly confined spaces. The position may also involve climbing stairs.

Health and Safety
