What the opportunity is
MISA is offering an Apprenticeship and Experiential Learnership Programme for 2026/2027. The scheme places successful candidates in MISA‑identified municipalities across South Africa, giving you real‑world exposure to infrastructure, operations and maintenance.
Who can apply
- South African youth who are unemployed.
- Recent graduates and students who need workplace experience.
- Applicants must meet the technical or academic entry requirements listed for each trade (see sections below).
What you gain
- Practical skills in high‑demand trades such as Electrical, Plumbing, Bricklaying, Motor and Diesel Mechanics.
- Two‑year apprenticeship contracts (or 12‑24 months for experiential learnerships).
- Work Integrated Learning (WIL) credits that can count toward your qualification.
- Opportunities to work in different municipalities, expanding your professional network.
How to apply
Follow these steps for each stream.
1. Download the official application form
Email misarecruitment2026@misa.gov.za requesting the form, or visit the MISA Apprenticeship and Learnership Programme 2026/2027 page.
2. Prepare the required documents
- Completed MISA application form (with correct reference number).
- Updated CV.
- Certified copies of relevant qualifications.
- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Proof of residential address.
- Preferred municipality.
- Institutional release or confirmation letter (for WIL applicants).
All items must be sent together in one email. Incomplete submissions will be rejected.
