About the Role

The General Assistant: Food Aid Services plays an important role in ensuring meeting facilities, kitchens, and hospitality areas are well maintained and ready for daily operations.
The successful candidate will assist with preparing refreshments, maintaining kitchen hygiene, supporting official meetings, and ensuring that catering supplies are properly managed.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Basic literacy.
- At least 2 years’ cleaning experience in an office environment.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of food service and cleaning duties, including:
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of tea, coffee, and refreshments during official meetings.
- Ensuring conference rooms are supplied with clean drinking water, glasses, and bottles.
- Preparing serving utensils, food, and beverages before meetings and functions.
- Cleaning meeting areas and washing utensils after events.
- Performing daily cleaning duties according to required quality standards.
- Keeping kitchens, cupboards, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and work surfaces clean.
- Washing dishcloths and maintaining overall kitchen hygiene.
- Monitoring kitchen stock such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and cleaning materials.
- Assisting with stock orders and unpacking deliveries.
- Reporting low stock levels to the responsible person.
- Organising daily work to meet service delivery standards.
- Reporting completed tasks and raising any workplace issues when necessary.
- Following workplace procedures and maintaining high-quality service.
