Dis-Chem Pharmacies is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Casual Cashier at its Westville store in KwaZulu-Natal. This is an opportunity for individuals with cashier experience, good customer service skills and a passion for working in retail.
Successful candidates will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately, handling payments and providing excellent customer service while maintaining Dis-Chem’s standards and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- At least 6 months’ cashier or till-operation experience.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Good numerical skills.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Basic customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours.
- Reliable transport or residence close to the Westville store.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Clear credit and criminal records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful applicants will perform the following duties:
- Process customer purchases and transactions accurately.
- Receive and process cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons and other accepted payments.
- Provide professional customer service at the point of sale.
- Build positive relationships with customers.
- Handle refunds and merchandise exchanges when authorised.
- Process customer loyalty cards and applicable rewards programmes.
- Keep cash secure and follow procedures for depositing money into the drop safe.
- Ensure that all purchases and outgoing items are scanned and paid for.
- Follow company policies regarding cash handling, security and fraud prevention.
- Stay informed about current promotions and sales.
- Report customer complaints, compliments and suspicious activities to management.
- Maintain accuracy when processing transactions, price changes and voids.
- Protect confidential information and follow security procedures.
