Job Description
Fedics is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Ward Hostess in Pretoria, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the correct meals according to their dietary requirements and instructions from doctors. The candidate will also provide excellent customer service while maintaining hospital hygiene, food safety and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patients receive the correct meals according to their dietary and medical requirements.
- Complete patient menu cards accurately.
- Ensure patient water carafes and glasses are clean and provide fresh ice water throughout the day.
- Provide prompt tea service to patients.
- Maintain company and hospital standards and procedures.
- Treat patients with courtesy, respect and helpfulness at all times.
- Assist with preparing meals, particularly salads and desserts.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, customer service, health and safety.
- Ensure excellent service delivery within the assigned area.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Ability to work quickly and safely.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate must:
- Be honest, reliable and responsible.
- Enjoy practical and methodical work.
- Have good hand-eye coordination.
- Maintain good personal hygiene.
- Be able to work efficiently and safely.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Be able to work 45–50 hours per week.
- Have no skin allergies to food or cleaning detergents.
