Job Description
Fedics is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Ward Hostess in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will join the Catering Department and be responsible for ensuring that patients receive their meals and beverages efficiently and according to their prescribed dietary requirements.
The ideal candidate must be customer-focused, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and service delivery within the hospital environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve meals and beverages to patients according to their prescribed diets.
- Assist patients with selecting meals where necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in ward kitchens and food-serving areas.
- Collect and accurately record patients’ meal orders.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
- Report patient dietary concerns and meal service problems to management.
- Support the Catering Department in providing excellent patient care and customer service.
- Ensure that meals are delivered efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Ability to work quickly and safely.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
