Job Description
Curro is inviting suitably qualified and experienced educators to apply for the position of Mathematics Teacher (Intermediate Phase) at Curro Salt Rock in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics and other subjects according to the Curro curriculum, supporting learners’ academic development, and creating a positive classroom environment that encourages learning, creativity and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using modern teaching methods.
- Prepare learning materials, workbooks and lesson plans.
- Monitor learners’ academic progress and performance.
- Develop and adjust term plans to meet learners’ educational needs.
- Manage classroom activities, discipline and communication with parents.
- Prepare and administer formal and continuous assessments.
- Compile revision materials and assessment schedules.
- Plan and manage homework, including revision activities.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school outings and other educational programmes.
- Promote positive attitudes, skills development and academic excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- BEd and/or PGCE qualification in Intermediate Phase teaching.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in the Intermediate Phase.
- Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
- Registration with SACE.
- Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
- Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
- Clear criminal record.
