Job Description
Tiger Brands is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of General Worker at its Isando facility in Gauteng. This is an opportunity for hardworking, physically fit individuals who are looking to work for one of Africa’s largest listed fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers.
The successful candidates will assist with general production duties, handling materials, stacking finished products, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that workplace safety and food safety standards are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical labour, including lifting, carrying and moving loads of up to 25 kg.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Stack and palletise finished products correctly.
- Inspect materials and products for defects.
- Complete quality-check documentation when required.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report potential safety risks and assist in resolving them.
- Follow food safety policies and procedures.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Must be physically and medically fit to perform the required duties.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 25 kg.
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to work shifts, including weekends and overtime when required.
- Must be willing to follow safety, quality and food hygiene procedures.
