About the Position

Netcare is offering an exciting Finance Internship for recent finance graduates who are looking to gain valuable workplace experience within one of South Africa’s leading private healthcare providers.

The successful intern will support the Debtors Control function by managing outstanding accounts, following up on payments, assisting with billing processes, preparing journals, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures.

This internship is ideal for graduates who are eager to build practical finance experience while working in a professional healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist with debtor account management.
  • Follow up on outstanding medical aid and private accounts.
  • Ensure accurate billing of patient accounts.
  • Process and resubmit rejected claims.
  • Prepare journals for approval.
  • Process authorised journals.
  • Assist patients with payment arrangements.
  • Follow up on outstanding debt collections.
  • Monitor debtor days and collections.
  • Reconcile remittance advice.
  • Prepare estimates for private patients.
  • Handle finance-related account queries.
  • Generate finance reports and analyse data.
  • Print and distribute monthly patient statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Netcare policies and audit standards.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous professional development.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • National Diploma in Finance (NQF Level 6) or
  • Degree/BTech in Finance (NQF Level 7).
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Sound knowledge of finance principles and practices.

No previous work experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates.
