The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health is inviting applications for temporary positions to support the HPV Vaccination Campaign in the eThekwini District. 1. Professional Nurse (HPV Campaign)

  • Posts Available: 5
  • Salary: R337 359 per annum + 37% service benefits

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Degree or National Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Registration with SANC as a General Nurse
  • Current SANC registration

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vaccination stations.
  • Administer HPV vaccines safely.
  • Coordinate nursing staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure vaccine cold chain management.
  • Collect and submit campaign data.
  • Monitor adverse events following immunisation.
  • Conduct record keeping and reporting.
  • Support school health programmes.

2. Data Capturer

  • Reference: ETH DO 02/2026
  • Posts Available: 3
  • Salary: R201 093 per annum + 37% service benefits

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proof of computer literacy required

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit schools with HPV teams.
  • Capture vaccination data accurately.
  • Verify statistics.
  • Compile weekly reports.
  • Maintain campaign records.
  • Assist with learner consent forms.

3. Staff Nurse (HPV Campaign)

  • Reference: ETH DO 03/2026
  • Posts Available: 3

Salary

  • Grade 1: R229 440 per annum + 37% benefits (No experience required)
  • Grade 2: R272 778 per annum + 37% benefits
  • Grade 3: R319 071 per annum + 37% benefits

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Certificate of Enrolment as Staff Nurse
  • Registration with SANC as Staff Nurse
  • Current SANC registration

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct vision screening, height, and weight assessments.
  • Administer HPV and routine vaccinations.
  • Assist with learner consent forms.
  • Provide health education.
  • Refer learners requiring additional care.
  • Assist with campaign data collection and reporting.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Successful candidates should have:

  • Knowledge of HPV programmes and immunisation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
