Duties and Responsibilities
The Ward Hostess will be responsible for providing professional and courteous service to patients and ensuring that all meals and refreshments are delivered according to hospital and patient requirements.
Key duties include:
- Ensure patients receive the correct meals according to patient and doctor instructions.
- Complete patient menu cards accurately.
- Ensure patient water carafes and glasses are clean.
- Make sure adequate ice water is available throughout the day.
- Provide prompt tea service to patients.
- Maintain company and hospital standards and procedures.
- Be courteous, respectful and helpful to patients at all times.
- Assist with the preparation of meals, including salads and desserts.
- Maintain customer service, food quality, health and safety standards.
- Ensure a high level of customer service within the assigned area.
- Follow all relevant food handling and hygiene procedures.
Skills and Competencies
Applicants should have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a hospital or healthcare environment. The ideal candidate should be practical, reliable and able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
