About the Unitrans Truck Driver Learnership 2026
Unitrans is seeking for applicants who would like theoretical knowledge and practical skills focusing on the being a Truck Driver with their learnership. The Unitrans Truck Driver Learnership offers eligible unemployed South African youth an opportunity to gain practical training and work-based experience while working toward the Occupational Certificate: Truck Driver at NQF Level 3. This learnership is designed to help participants develop the essential skills and knowledge required to pursue a career as a professional truck driver.
You will be required to perform the duties below:
- Complete a structured 12- to 18-month learnership programme that combines classroom-based theory, practical workplace training, and supervised driving experience behind the wheel
- Attend all compulsory face-to-face classroom sessions and complete the required training activities to demonstrate the necessary knowledge and competence
- Accumulate at least 100 hours of practical driving experience in the workplace before progressing to the final assessment stage
- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently while consistently following the required legal standards, road-safety regulations, and energy-efficiency practices
- Complete the final competency assessment as well as the compulsory External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) to demonstrate that all programme requirements have been met.
