Woolworths is looking for a Store Assistant: Beauty Stockroom to join its Corporate Stores team at Ballito Junction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the store by ensuring that the stockroom is organised, hygienic, safe and properly managed. The role involves handling stock, processing stock movements, maintaining accurate records and assisting with the daily operational needs of the store.
The position also involves providing good customer service to internal customers by responding to requests and queries in a friendly, professional and timely manner.
This opportunity is suited to someone with Grade 12/Matric who is interested in working in the retail environment. Previous experience in a retail, FMCG stockroom or receiving environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
The Store Assistant will be responsible for maintaining an organised, hygienic and safe stockroom while following company policies and occupational health and safety requirements.
Duties include:
- Maintain an organised, hygienic and safe stockroom.
- Follow Woolworths policies and OHASA standards.
- Process stock movements, including returns to vendors, inter-branch transfers and waste.
- Ensure stock is handled accurately according to inventory procedures.
- Help minimise stock losses and shrinkage through proper stock handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal customers.
- Respond promptly and courteously to internal customer requests and enquiries.
- Support store operations by keeping the sales floor and back areas clean, safe and well-stocked.
- Use basic product knowledge when handling stock and merchandise.
- Maintain accurate stock records and documentation.
- Report acts of dishonesty, shrinkage or fraud to management or the designated hotline.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Contribute to team goals and work schedules.
- Follow attendance, dress code and ethical standards.
- Complete all duties with accuracy and attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent NQF qualification.
- Previous experience in a retail or FMCG stockroom or receiving environment is highly desirable.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts according to store requirements.
- Basic product knowledge relevant to stockroom inventory and retail merchandise.
- Strong communication skills.
