The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) is inviting applications for 15 Call Centre Agent positions on a three-year fixed-term contract. About the Role

As a Call Centre Agent, you will provide professional customer support by assisting members of the public and stakeholders with enquiries related to the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act. You will respond to telephone calls, emails, and fax enquiries while ensuring that customers receive accurate information and quality service.

The role requires strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with administrative systems and customer records.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

AARTO Call Centre Services – Public Enquiries
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, emails, and fax enquiries.
  • Escalate complex enquiries to the relevant RTIA departments.
  • Advise callers on the status of representation applications.
  • Assist with instalment application enquiries.
  • Provide updates on revocation of enforcement order applications.
  • Explain AARTO processes to callers.
  • Inform customers about the required forms and supporting documents.

AARTO Call Centre Services – Issuing Authorities
  • Provide updates on election-to-be-tried-in-court requests.
  • Assist with nomination of driver enquiries.
  • Process special arrangements relating to AARTO elective options.
  • Print and distribute incoming fax applications received through the AARTO fax-to-email system.
  • Acknowledge representations, instalment applications, and revocation requests on the National Contraventions Register (NCR).
  • Forward documents to the relevant internal sections for further processing.
Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4).
  • Experience in administrative support services.
  • Experience in data capturing.
  • Experience providing general office support.
  • Previous experience working as a Call Centre Agent.
Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Computer literacy.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong administrative abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the AARTO Act will be an added advantage.
