Class Assistant (full-time)

Curro is an independent schooling provider offering quality education from Early Childhood Development through to Grade 12. Curro is looking for a Class Assistant to join the team at St Dominics in Newcastle.
The Class Assistant will work closely with the phase and class teachers to support the effective running of the classroom and assist with teaching, learning, administrative and co-curricular activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Working closely with phase and class teachers to support the effective running of the grade and phase.
• Helping create and maintain a positive, structured and educational classroom environment.
• Assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities under the teacher’s guidance.
• Supporting the management of learner behaviour according to school policies and classroom routines.
• Taking responsibility for the proper use, care and safekeeping of classroom equipment, resources and stock.
• Assisting with the organisation and supervision of sport and cultural activities.
• Supporting teachers and the school with sport, co-curricular and administrative duties when required.
• Providing general classroom and administrative support.
• Preparing learning materials and resources.
• Assisting with basic record keeping.
• Communicating with learners appropriately when required.
