This position requires flexibility, as employees may work early mornings, weekends, and different shifts based on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Welcome and assist customers professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service and product advice.
- Recommend suitable product alternatives when necessary.
- Promote current specials and new product ranges.
- Replenish shelves and merchandise products correctly.
- Rotate stock using proper stock rotation procedures.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cold chain standards.
- Identify damaged or expired products and manage returns.
- Keep the department clean, organised, and attractive.
- Minimise stock losses by following shrinkage control procedures.
- Report suspicious activities and stock discrepancies.
- Attend team meetings and follow company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and early mornings.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Customer service or food retail experience (advantageous).
