Job Overview
Clicks Group is recruiting three Shop Assistants/Cashiers for its Kloof store in KwaZulu-Natal. As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the store. Your primary responsibilities include operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing customer purchases accurately, handling cash responsibly, promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring the store remains clean, organised, and welcoming.

You will work closely with the rest of the store team to achieve sales targets, maintain high operational standards, and uphold the excellent customer service reputation that Clicks is known for.

Key Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, your responsibilities will include:
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently.
- Process customer purchases quickly and accurately.
- Handle cash and other payment methods according to company procedures.
- Process Clicks ClubCard rewards and benefits correctly.
- Promote ClubCard membership and register new members.
- Inform customers about promotions and special offers.
- Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Assist customers with product information and enquiries.
- Maintain merchandising displays according to company standards.
- Ensure shelves remain fully stocked, neat, and well presented.
- Perform general housekeeping duties throughout the store.
- Keep up to date with product ranges, promotions, and store events.
- Support stock management and merchandising activities.
- Follow company policies and operational procedures at all times.
- Contribute to achieving store sales and customer service objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) (Essential).
- Mathematics (50%) at Grade 12 level (Advantageous).
- English (50%) at Grade 12 level (Advantageous).
- Previous customer-facing or retail/FMCG experience is advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Basic understanding of merchandising principles.
- Knowledge of stock management procedures.
- Strong customer service orientation.
