Job Overview
Clicks Group is looking for a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join its store at Umhlanga Netcare. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while efficiently handling point-of-sale activities, merchandising, and general store operations.

Key Responsibilities
The Shop Assistant / Cashier will be responsible for:
- Efficiently completing point-of-sale activities.
- Scanning merchandise accurately and processing customer payments.
- Maintaining high levels of accuracy when handling transactions.
- Processing Clicks ClubCard rewards correctly.
- Handling cash safely and responsibly at all times.
- Promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme to customers.
- Enrolling new ClubCard members to support participation targets.
- Informing customers about current promotions and special offers.
- Providing friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Acting as a Clicks brand ambassador when assisting customers.
- Maintaining visibility and a positive presence on the shop floor.
- Completing merchandising activities according to store and visual merchandising standards.
- Maintaining general housekeeping and store cleanliness.
- Keeping product, range, promotion, and event knowledge up to date.
- Providing customers with accurate information about products and promotions.
- Supporting the store team in achieving operational and customer service objectives.
- Following company procedures and instructions consistently.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Basic mathematical and numeracy skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Computer literacy.
- The ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Strong attention to accuracy when processing transactions.
The following are desirable:
- Experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment.
- 50% or higher in Grade 12 Mathematics.
- 50% or higher in Grade 12 English.
- Understanding of merchandising and promotional principles.
- Knowledge of stock management procedures.
- Previous point-of-sale or cashier experience.
