Job Overview

The successful candidate will work as part of the Production Department, assisting with daily production activities while ensuring that all packing processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards. Employees are expected to contribute towards achieving daily production targets and supporting the overall production plan without compromising product quality.
Quality is a key focus of this position. Bread Packers are responsible for ensuring that only products meeting Premier’s quality standards proceed through the production process. Any defects or quality concerns should be identified and reported immediately to supervisors to prevent compromised products from reaching customers.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic production environment is another essential responsibility. Employees must follow all hygiene procedures, food safety regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while ensuring that workstations remain neat, organised, and safe throughout each shift.
Health and safety are top priorities within Premier’s production facilities. Successful candidates must follow all company safety policies, wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues.
The role also involves supporting planned maintenance activities by taking care of assigned equipment, reporting faults promptly, and completing required documentation where necessary. Employees are encouraged to participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and maintaining operational excellence.
This position requires individuals who are physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may become hot during production. Candidates should also be willing to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when operational requirements demand it.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Previous production or manufacturing experience will be advantageous but is not essential.

As a Bread Packer, your responsibilities will include:
- Pack bread products according to company quality standards.
