Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of the Bartender position is to prepare and serve beverages within the restaurant and banqueting operations while ensuring that Sun International’s standard operating procedures are consistently maintained.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 is preferred, or Grade 10 with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a bartender.
• Cocktail bartending experience will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing the Work Area

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing the bar before service.
• Completing mise-en-place.
• Conducting equipment checks.
• Ensuring the bar is fully stocked.
• Checking cleanliness of the bar area.
• Identifying equipment or maintenance issues.
• Reporting operational concerns where necessary.

Beverage Preparation and Service

Daily responsibilities include:

• Taking customer beverage orders accurately.
• Processing orders through the point-of-sale system.
• Preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Mixing drinks according to company recipes.

• Presenting beverages professionally.
