Job Overview
Mr Price Money is looking for a Telesales Agent (Credit) to join its team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on a fixed-term contract. The role is focused on telephone-based sales, customer engagement, and providing customers with information about available products while working towards sales targets.
The successful candidate will contact prospective customers, introduce and explain available products, answer questions, and use prepared sales scripts to help persuade customers to make a purchase. The position requires someone who is confident communicating with customers over the telephone and who can consistently deliver professional, compliant, and high-quality customer interactions.
As this is a credit-related telesales role, the Telesales Agent must understand and follow relevant compliance requirements when handling customer calls and correspondence. This includes adhering to FAIS and FICA standards, as well as understanding applicable legislation and industry requirements such as the National Credit Act (NCA) and Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The role also involves accurately updating customer information, including personal, employment, and contact details, on the customer debtor system. Maintaining accurate information is important to ensure that the correct customer can be contacted and that records remain up to date.

Key Responsibilities
The Telesales Agent will be responsible for:
- Contacting prospective customers by telephone.
- Presenting information about available products and services.
- Explaining product features, pricing, and relevant information to customers.
- Using prepared sales scripts and sales talks when engaging prospective customers.
- Answering customer questions and providing accurate information.
- Persuading prospective customers to purchase suitable products.
- Working towards and achieving sales targets.
- Maintaining professional and effective customer communication.
- Ensuring all customer calls meet required service level agreements (SLAs).
- Following applicable FAIS and FICA requirements during customer interactions.
- Updating customer information accurately on the Customer Debtor System (CDS).
- Updating personal, employment, and contact details when required.
- Ensuring customer records contain accurate and relevant information.
- Maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and the company’s Code of Conduct.
- Handling customer correspondence in line with required standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- At least 1 year of experience in a sales environment
- Specific experience selling life insurance policies
- Knowledge of working within a sales environment and achieving targets
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to confidently engage customers telephonically
Advantageous Knowledge and Qualifications
The following will be advantageous:
- RE5 qualification
- Knowledge of FAIS requirements
- Understanding of FSB compliance
- Knowledge of the relevant Code of Conduct
- Understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA)
- Understanding of POPI/POPIA and applicable information-protection requirements
