RCL FOODS is looking for a Packer FTC to join its team in Pretoria West, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for packing finished beverage products and preparing completed products for shipment.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates who have Matric, can read and write, and have at least one year of beverage product packing experience.
Applicants must have:
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Ability to read and write.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in beverage product packing.
- Ability to work shifts as required.
- Willingness to follow workplace safety and food safety procedures.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or beverage environment will be beneficial.
The successful Packer will be responsible for:
Packing Products
- Preparing corrugated boxes for packing.
- Packing cooled products into corrugated boxes.
- Ensuring products are packed according to the correct sizes and quantities.
- Palletising packed corrugated product boxes.
- Checking boxes before and after packing.
- Ensuring all corrugated boxes are free from damage.
- Checking daily production plans to identify products that need to be packed.
- Removing completed or defective products and materials as required.
- Shrink-wrapping and labelling each packed product box.
The Packer must maintain high standards when handling finished products.
Responsibilities include:
- Checking products and packaging for defects.
- Ensuring the correct quantity and size of products are packed.
- Identifying damaged boxes or materials.
- Removing defective products from the packing process.
- Ensuring products are correctly labelled.
- Reporting food safety and food quality concerns immediately to management.
Attention to detail is important to ensure that customers receive products that meet RCL FOODS’ quality standards.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Duties include:
- Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area.
- Keeping packing areas clean and organised.
- Ensuring materials are stored appropriately.
- Removing waste and defective materials.
- Following workplace cleanliness requirements.
Safety is an important part of the role.
The successful candidate must:
- Attend and participate in relevant company safety programmes.
- Maintain workplace safety.
- Follow established safety guidelines.
- Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Follow confined-space safety requirements where applicable.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents to the relevant supervisor.
Because the position involves food and beverage products, the successful candidate must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
This includes:
- Following food safety procedures.
- Maintaining personal hygiene.
- Wearing the required PPE.
- Ensuring products are handled correctly.
- Reporting food safety concerns immediately.
- Following quality-control procedures.
- Protecting finished products from contamination or damage.
