Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10, ABET Level 4, or an equivalent qualification.
- Ability to read and write.
- 0–2 years’ experience as a Cleaner in a healthcare facility or similar environment will be an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital by performing duties that include:
- Cleaning designated areas including wards, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, walls, basins, lockers, and other hospital facilities.
- Sweeping, mopping, polishing, and disinfecting floors.
- Opening windows daily to improve ventilation and assist with infection prevention.
- Dusting furniture, equipment, and workspaces using both damp and dry cleaning methods.
- Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste in the designated disposal areas.
- Replacing toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap where required.
- Completing toilet cleaning checklists according to hospital hygiene standards.
- Reporting safety hazards or unhygienic conditions to supervisors.
- Providing routine maintenance support where required.
- Cleaning, storing, and safeguarding all cleaning materials and equipment.
- Reporting faulty cleaning equipment or any electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
- Ensuring that infection prevention and control standards are maintained at all times.
