Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this role is to maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Icebolethu premises. Successful candidates will ensure that the workplace remains safe, organised, and welcoming while following company health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Cleaning offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and communal areas.
- Mopping tiled floors and vacuuming carpets.
- Wiping down worktops, tables, appliances, and other surfaces.
- Emptying, cleaning, and sanitising waste bins.
- Separating recyclable and general waste correctly.
- Operating cleaning machinery safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Cleaning and storing equipment after use.
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting stock shortages.
- Maintaining high hygiene standards in line with company policies.
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Displaying warning signs when cleaning wet floors to prevent accidents.
- Responding promptly to urgent cleaning requests.
- Maintaining professional conduct when dealing with staff and visitors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- 1–2 years of professional cleaning experience, preferably in an office or corporate environment.
- Basic knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques.
- Understanding of chemical dilution and safe handling procedures.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Added Advantage:
- Training or certification in commercial cleaning, gardening, or workplace safety.
