The Department of Health is looking for suitably qualified and reliable candidates to fill 5 Stores Assistant positions within the Supply Chain Management Directorate at Tembisa Provincial Tertiary Hospital.
The successful candidates will assist with the daily operations of the warehouse and Transit Section. The role involves receiving, moving, packing and picking stock, delivering goods to end users, maintaining cleanliness and supporting SCM staff.

- Previous experience in a warehouse or Transit Section will be an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Warehouse & Transit Operations
- Managing deliveries in the Transit Section.
- Delivering goods and services to end users.
- Supporting SCM Clerks and Managers.
- Packing received stock onto shelves.
- Picking stock from shelves after it has been issued by the clerk.
- Carrying stock from the Warehouse to the Transit Section.
- Assisting with the movement and organisation of stock.
- Ensuring goods are handled appropriately.
The Stores Assistant will also be responsible for:
- Cleaning the warehouse and floors.
- Clearing and cleaning the Transit Section.
- Cleaning the corridor around the stores area.
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
- Ensuring storage areas are kept neat and safe.
The successful candidate must provide a high level of customer care to both internal and external stakeholders.
This includes:
- Communicating respectfully with colleagues and customers.
- Responding to requests professionally.
- Working effectively with SCM staff and management.
- Maintaining positive working relationships.
- Assisting end users with deliveries and stock requirements.
