Purpose of the Role

The Shop Assistant plays an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.

The successful candidate will assist with customer service, cashier duties, stock receiving, merchandising, housekeeping, and maintaining high store standards.

This role requires an energetic individual who enjoys working in retail and is committed to providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of daily retail activities, including:

Stock Receiving and Off-loading
  • Receive incoming stock deliveries.
  • Off-load products safely.
  • Check stock against delivery documentation.
  • Report damaged or missing stock.
  • Assist with stock organisation.
Merchandising
  • Arrange products neatly on shelves.
  • Pack products inside fridges and freezers.
  • Ensure displays remain attractive and well stocked.
  • Rotate stock where necessary.
  • Monitor product presentation.
Cashier Duties
  • Process customer purchases accurately.
  • Handle cash and card transactions.
  • Balance the cash drawer when required.
  • Provide customers with receipts.

  • Assist with stock counts.
